Abstract:
Disclosed are: a polymer article which has excellent mechanical strength, toughness and stretchability; and a method for producing the polymer article. Specifically disclosed is a polymer article which is a polymer material or polymer molded body that is formed from a polymer starting material. The polymer article has a crystallinity of 50% or more but less than 90% and a tensile strain at break of 60% or more. Also specifically disclosed is a method for producing the polymer article, which comprises: a heating step wherein the polymer starting material is heated to a temperature of (Tm - 70)˚C or more but less than Tm˚C when the melting point (˚C) of the polymer starting material is represented by Tm; and a compression step wherein a polymer article that has a crystallinity of 50% or more but less than 90% and a tensile strain at break of 60% or more is obtained by cooling the polymer starting material heated in the heating step and compressing the polymer starting material during the cooling process.
