Abstract:
The present invention provides a polymer composition that is suitable for a liquid crystal aligning agent which enables the achievement of a liquid crystal alignment film that has excellent resistance to an AC afterimage and a low pretilt angle. This polymer composition is characterized by containing the following (A) component and (B) component. (A) component: at least one polymer (A) which is selected from the group consisting of a polyimide precursor having a repeating unit represented by formula (a) and a polyimide that is an imidized product of the polyimide precursor. (B) component: a polyester (B) which has a repeating unit represented by formula (b1) but does not have the repeating unit represented by formula (a) and an imidized structure thereof.
