Title:
POLYMER HAVING BIS(DIPHENYLPHOSPHINO)BINAPHTHYL GROUP
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/018195
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A polymer having a bis(diphenylphosphino)binaphthyl group that can be used as a catalyst for addition reaction, especially asymmetric 1,4-addition reaction, or reduction reaction, especially asymmetric reduction reaction, and that can be easily recovered and reused. The polymer having a bis(diphenylphosphino)binaphthyl group is one resulting from repetition of racemic or optically active 2,2’-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1’-binaphthyl compound having its 5-position substituted with the unsaturated end of one (meth)acryloyl of a compound having multiple (meth)acryloyls and another 2,2’-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1’-binaphthyl compound having its 5’-position substituted with the unsaturated end of another (meth)acryloyl of the compound having multiple (meth)acryloyls so as to have a molecular weight of 1,500 to 10,000. The reduction catalyst comprises this polymer and a transition metal.
