Abstract:
Provided is a polymer latex production method that is characterized by comprising: a polymerization step for polymerizing monomers in an organic solvent to obtain a polymer solution of a synthetic polyisoprene and/or a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer; an antioxidant addition step for adding, to the polymer solution of the synthetic polyisoprene and/or styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer, 0.01-1.00 parts by weight of an antioxidant per 100 parts by weight of the synthetic polyisoprene and/or styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer; and an emulsification step for obtaining a polymer latex by emulsifying, in water and in the presence of a surfactant, the polymer solution to which the antioxidant was added. The polymer latex production method is also characterized in that, in the emulsification step, the emulsification is performed such that the ratio D75/D25 of the 25% frequency volume particle diameter D25 and the 75% frequency volume particle diameter D75 of the synthetic polyisoprene and/or styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer particles included in the polymer latex is 1.90-2.30.
