Abstract:

A vinyl polymer in which an end of the molecular chain has a structure represented by general formula (1). The polymer is produced through living radical polymerization by adding a lowly polymerizable functional olefin compound during or after the polymerization. The polymer can be suitably combined with a hardener to give a curable composition. In said formula, R?3¿ represents a hydroxy, amino, epoxy, carboxylate, ester, ether, amido, silyl, lowly polymerizable alkenyl, or C¿1-20? organic group; and X represents a halogen, nitroxide, or sulfide group or a cobalt porphyrin complex.
