Abstract:
A positive temperature coefficient (PTC) device including a protection component (102), such as a polymeric PTC chip，a first terminal (108) and a second terminal (110) coupled to opposite sides of the protection component (102). The PTC device further includes a component housing (106) surrounding the protection component (102) and the terminals (108, 110)，wherein the component housing (106) includes a first end (114) and a second end (116)，and wherein the first and the second terminals (108, 110) extend through an end wall (144) of the second end (116). each of the first and second terminals (108, 110) includes a main body (156) and a terminal arm (158) extending from the main body (156)，wherein the terminal arm (158) extends through the end wall (144) of a closed end of the component housing (106)，and wherein the main body (156) is enclosed by the component housing (106).
