Abstract:
The invention provides a polymerizable composition solution having excellent storage stability that makes it possible to orient a polymerizable compound in the polymerizable composition well without defects after application to a base material and removal of the solvent by a drying process. The invention also provides an optically anisotropic body that is well oriented without defects that uses this solution. Provided are a solution containing a polymerizable composition and an organic solvent, 90 mass% or more of the content of the polymerizable composition being a polymerizable compound having a 2-methyl-1,4-phenylene group in the molecule, represented by general formula (1); and an optically anisotropic body that uses this solution.
