Abstract:
The invention provides a polymerizable compound expressed by the following formula (I), a polymerizable composition containing the polymerizable compound and a polymerization initiator, a polymer obtained by polymerizing the polymerizable compound or the polymerizable composition, and an optically anisotropic body containing the polymer as a constituent material. The invention makes it possible to obtain an optical film having a practical low melting point, excellent solubility in common solvents, that can be manufactured at low cost, and that can provide uniform polarization conversion across a broad wavelength band, and also provides a polymerizable compound, polymerizable composition, polymer, and optically anisotropic body. In the following formula, Q1 through Q4 represent hydrogen atoms or the like, X represents a C6 to C12 bivalent aromatic group or the like, Ax and Ay represent groups expressed by the following formula (II), n represents 0 or 1, * represents a bonding position, Y1 through Y6 represent a single bond, -O-, -O-C(=O)-, -C(=O)-O-, and the like, G1 and G2 represent C1 to C20 bivalent aliphatic groups or the like, Z1 and Z2 represent C2 through C10 alkenyl groups or the like, A1 represents a trivalent aromatic group or the like, and A2 and A3 represent C6 through C30 bivalent aromatic groups and the like.
