Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a polymerizable compound (I); a polymerizable composition which contains the polymerizable compound (I) and a polymerization initiator; a polymer which is obtained by polymerizing the polymerizable compound or the polymerizable composition; and an optically anisotropic material which uses the polymer as a constituent material. The present invention provides a polymerizable compound, a polymerizable composition, a polymer and an optically anisotropic material, each of which can be produced at low cost, has a practically low melting point and excellent solubility in common solvents, and is able to provide an optical film that is capable of uniform polarization conversion over a wide wavelength range. (In the formula, each of Y1-Y6 represents a chemical single bond, -O-C(=O)-, -C(=O)-O- or the like; each of G1 and G2 represents a divalent aliphatic group having 1-20 carbon atoms, or the like; each of Z1 and Z2 represents an unsubstituted or a halogen atom-substituted alkenyl group having 2-10 carbon atoms; Ax represents a fused ring group (II) (wherein X represents -NR3-, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or the like; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms; D represents an optionally substituted ring having at least one nitrogen atom and 1-20 carbon atoms); Ay represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms, or the like; A1 represents a trivalent aromatic group or the like; each of A2 and A3 represents a divalent aromatic group having 6-30 carbon atoms, or the like; and Q1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms.)
