Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a polymerizable liquid crystal composition that can undergo uniform vertical alignment without a PI layer being provided, can inhibit occurrence of dropping marks or alignment irregularity, has a high ability to undergo vertical alignment and high pretilt angle stability, and has excellent compatibility; and a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition. In addition, the present invention addresses another problem of providing a compound for producing the abovementioned liquid crystal composition. The present invention provides: a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing one or more compounds represented by general formula (i); a liquid crystal display element using the polymerizable liquid crystal composition; and a compound represented by general formula (i).
