Abstract:

Through the use of a composition obtained by combining a binder component having specific components and microcapsules having a specific structure, while said composition is water-based and has a minimal impact on the usage environment, the present invention provides a polymerizable sealing composition that demonstrates good screwing/sealing ability and usability, and generates minimal dust and shavings during screwing. The polymerizable sealing composition includes, in a predetermined composition ratio: (1) microcapsules including components (a) and (b), where (a) is a compound that has a bisphenol skeleton and, intramolecularly, at least one (meth)acrylic group, and (b) is a (meth)acrylic monomer that has a specific chemical structure and a molecular weight within a specific range; (2) a binder component having a specific structure; (3) a factor that cures components (a) and (b); and (4) water.
