Abstract:
A purpose of the present invention is to provide a catalyst composition of high polymerization activity. Another purpose is to provide a polymer production method. Another purpose is to provide a polymer produced according to said polymer production method. Another purpose is to provide a rubber composition containing said polymer. Another purpose is to provide a tire using said rubber composition. Provided is a catalyst composition containing a compound represented by structural formula I (wherein said compound comprises an OH group in at least one bipyridyl ring; M is a transition metal, a lanthanoid, scandium, or yttrium; R1 and R2 are hydrocarbon groups comprising one or more carbon atoms, or halogen atoms; and R1 and R2 may be identical or different). Provided is a polymer production method including a step for polymerizing, in the presence of said catalyst composition, at least one selected from the group consisting of conjugated diene compounds and compounds comprising ethylenically unsaturated double bonds. Provided is a polymer produced according to said polymer production method. Provided is a rubber composition containing said polymer. Provided is a tire using said rubber composition.
