Abstract:
A polyester which is produced with a polymerization catalyst containing metals other than antimony and germanium as major metallic ingredients and which is reduced in filter clogging during molding, etc. The polyester contains at least one member selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkali metal compounds, alkaline earth metals, and alkaline earth metal compounds and at least one member selected from the group consisting of aluminum and compounds thereof, the contents of these satisfying the following relationships (1) and (2). [M] < 0.05 (1) [M] / [Al] $m(F) 20 (2) ([M] and [A] indicate the total content of the alkali metal atoms and alkaline earth metal atoms and the content of the aluminum atoms, respectively, both in terms of mol% based on the acid ingredient(s) contained in the polyester.) The polyester is usable in a fiber, film, hollow molding, etc.
