Abstract:

Disclosed is a negatively charged polymerized toner which utilizes a charge control agent that contains a cyclic phenol sulfide as an active ingredient, is particularly useful for a color toner and also useful for a polymerized toner, can increase the rate of charge rise, has a high charge amount, has excellent charging properties, particularly excellent environmental stability, and have no problem in the restriction on waste disposal and therefore has good safety, and which has high charging properties. The polymerized toner is characterized by comprising at least one cyclic phenol sulfide represented by general formula (1) (wherein R1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, or a substituted or unsubstituted fused polycyclic aromatic group; R2 represents a substituted or unsubstituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted fused polycyclic aromatic group; m represents an integer of 4 to 9; and n represents an integer of 0, 1 or 2).
