Title:
POLYPEPTIDE HAVING ANTIHUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS ACTIVITY, GENE ENCODING THE POLYPEPTIDE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE POLYPEPTIDE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/052043
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A peptide K97-0003 which exerts an anti-HIV activity through the inhibition of the formation of syncytia by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) envelope glycoprotein together with host cells wherein a receptor to the HIV is expressed. This peptide has been found out by studies for discussing novel substances having an HIV inhibitory activity and being efficacious in treating AIDS. The base sequence of a gene encoding the polypeptide and a process of producing the polypeptide by using a strain K97-0003.
