Abstract:
A reluctance motor including a rotor (1) having n (n: 2 or greater integer) salient poles (1a, 1b) having an equal width and disposed at equal angular intervals, and a stationary armature (16) having magnetic poles (16a, 16b, 16c, ...) with polyphase armature coils (9a, 9b, 9c, ...), wherein the magnetic poles of the armature are opposed in radial directions to the rotor. Sets of two adjacent magnetic poles (16a-16b, 16b-16c, ...) are sequentially excited to attract the salient poles (1a, 1b) and accordingly, all the salient poles contribute to the output torque without resting.
