Abstract:
Disclosed is an optical resin which can be used for eyeglasses lenses. Also disclosed is a polymerizable composition used for producing such an optical resin. A polythiourethane or a poly(trithiocarbonate) polythioether excellent in optical properties (refractive index, Abbe number) and mechanical properties (tensile or flexural properties) is obtained by reacting a poly(trithiocarbonate) polythiol (component a) with a polyisocyanate and/or polyisothiocyanate (component b-1) or a polyepithio compound (component b-2).
