Abstract:
Provided are: a polyvinyl alcohol film which exhibits excellent elongation properties when used to produce a polarizing film, and from which it is possible to obtain a polarizing film exhibiting a high degree of polarization and little color unevenness, and specifically, a polyvinyl alcohol film which does not break when used to produce a thin polarizing film; a method for producing this polyvinyl alcohol film; and a polarizing film which uses this polyvinyl alcohol film. This long polyvinyl alcohol film is characterized by having a thickness of 25-60μm, and in that the thickness D (μm) thereof and the tensile modulus of elasticity X(MPa) thereof in the lengthwise direction (MD direction) when the water content of the film is 9 wt% satisfy formula (1). 0.9≤X/D≤1.3 (1)
