Abstract:
A pool-type integral leading facility for a lead-alloy cooled advanced small modular reactor (PILLAR) of the present invention is downscaled experimental equipment for verifying the natural circulation safety and load following capability of a new lead-alloy cooled advanced small modular reactor. URANUS, which is the lead-alloy cooled advanced small modular reactor to be substantiated through the present invention, uses a lead-bismuth eutectic as a coolant and has a pool-type design in which all of the rector systems are included in a simple reactor vessel, thereby maximizing safety. Furthermore, a reactor coolant pump, which is an active device for generating the flow of a coolant, is excluded such that an accident, which can occur because of the failure of a corresponding device, is prevented in advance, thereby contributing to the maximization of inherent safety.
