Abstract:
This porous hollow fiber membrane contains polyethersulfone or polysulfone, has an inner diameter of 300 to 600 µm, a thickness of 70 to 200 µm, and a fractional molecular weight of 10,000 or less, comprises a plurality of micropores with a diameter of 0.1 to 0.5 µm on the entire outer surface, and has a swelling ratio of less than 5%. Swelling ratio (%): Each of 20 or more porous hollow fiber membranes is measured for thickness at 10 or more arbitrary sites in a cross section in the width direction, the average thickness is calculated from the thicknesses measured at 200 or more sites in total, and the swelling ratio is calculated on the basis of the formula below. Swelling ratio (%) = (number of sites at which measured thickness is more than 1.3 times larger than average thickness)/(number of thickness measurements) × 100
