Abstract:
Disclosed is a porous membrane for water treatment, comprising: a high molecular weight polyethylene, a water-soluble polymer, and an antioxidant, wherein the high molecular weight polyethylene has an average molecular weight between 1.0 × 105-10.0 × 106, and a density between 0.940 g/cm3-0.976 g/cm3, and wherein based on the weight of the high molecular weight polyethylene of 100 parts, the weight of the water-soluble polymer is between 5-50 parts; and the weight of the antioxidant is between 0.1-10 parts. The prepared porous membrane for water treatment has a thickness between 5 µm-30 µm, a micropore diameter between 10 nm-100 nm, a porosity between 20%-60%, and a surface contact angle between 30º-95º. Also disclosed is a method for preparing the porous membrane for water treatment.
