Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to optimize porous silica particles to be used as a scrubbing agent for a cleansing cosmetic product. These porous silica particles have an average circularity of 0.1 to 0.5, a pore volume (Pv) of 1.0 to 2.0 ml/g, a mode diameter (Dm) of 50 to 600 μm, a ratio (D100/Dm) of the maximum particle size (D100) to the mode diameter (Dm) of 3.0 or less; furthermore, after 30 seconds of rubbing with a load of 1.0 to 1.4 KPa, the porous silica particles will have a median diameter (DR50) of 0.5 to 25 μm and a maximum particle size (DR100) of 1 to 100 μm. When a cleansing cosmetic product using these particles is rubbed on the skin, the skin will be rubbed with the friction force generated by friction with the skin, allowing for a mild peeling effect on the stratum corneum and preventing damage to the skin as well as minor scratches to the stratum corneum.
