A portable air purifier comprises: a housing provided with at least one air outlet (3) and at least one air inlet (2); a filtering assembly (7) and a fan (9) that are sequentially disposed in the housing along an air flowing path; a power supply assembly for supplying electric energy to the portable air purifier; a detection module (14-2); a control module (14-3); a communication module(14-4); and a central controller(14-1). The central controller(14-1) obtains the use condition of the filtering assembly (7) from the detection module (14-2), transmits the use condition out by means of the communication module(14-4), and receives an external instruction transmitted by the communication module(14-4) or controls the fan (9) to be started and stopped and/or controls the rotation speed of the fan (9) by means of the control module (14-3) according to a preset program. The portable air purifier is convenient to carry, can automatically monitor the use condition of the filtering assembly (7), and can prompt a user to replace a filtering screen. In addition, the present invention also provides a control method for the portable air purifier and an air purification system.
