Description:

The following is a foil description of this invention, including the best method of performing it, known to me:

PORTABLE ANIMAL WASTE COLLECTING DEVICE

For many years people have been using traditional ways of picking or scooping animal waste with a broom and a spade or a scooper; or in unhygienic way, by using fingers and a plastic or paper bag to pick up animal waste. There are many improved devices and inventions available, however they are usually large, heavy, awkward, and not easy to be carried with, especially when it is to be carried outdoor, on a street or in a park. This invention especially devised in order to provide a portable animal waste collecting device which is portable, compact, light weight, hygienic, secure, easy convenient to carry with, to be effectively and hygienically used in the street, in a park, at home, indoor or outdoor.

The invention is devised in manner such that in stead of employing traditional method of scooping up animal waste, such of a dog or cat waste, the new said invention device uses the combination methods of picking up, grabbing and scooping actions, such actions are done from the jaws of the device which is controlled by the user's hand or fingers, which are worn or strapped to the device, to collect waste into a slipped over bag supported by device container, the slipped over bag may be slipped back in reversed direction after the waste is collected inside the container, the jaws can be then closed and locked so that the bag can be tied up to protect and secure waste inside bag, and the waste is ready for disposal hygienically and securely.

The new invention of the animal waste collecting device comprises a container, which is made up of two hollow rectangular like boxes joining at one ends, while opening at other ends, to form the parallel jaws, the jaws can make contact with each other, or may overlap each other, when they are closed; on the back of the device, straps are built or attached on the upper and lower of the device where the hand or fingers can be worn or strapped to control the opening and closing of the container.

One form of the design of the device where the container may be designed as a skeleton shape of the boxes, such skeleton may be formed from plastic or metal wire or frame structure such that it can support a slipped over bag for collecting waste; container may be foldable to reduce in size. In other form of the design, the device maybe formed from folding and bending of material such as from a piece of plastic sheet, paper, cardboard or metal.

The upper and lower boxes of the device is preferably joined at 7 as shown in figure 2, The jaws may be designed in a manner such mat when the jaws are closed, they are just touching each other, or they may overlap each other so that waste can be pushed further into device. The jaws are preferably normally open; however they can be in either normally opened or closed.

Short or long handles maybe attached to the device as an extension to the device, handles may have shape of a tongs or scissors. Other ways of the straps and handles may be designed, but not limited the example of figures 2, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, or 24.

A bag may be slipped over the device so that waste can be collected into bag. Figures 3 to 8 give an example of how the device is used.

After waste is collected inside the bag, the lockers are used to lock the jaws close so that the bag can be easily tied up to secure the waste inside the bag; another form of locker is the elastic string which is run over the device to keep both jaws close as 21 of figure 2 shows; the jaws lockers can be in many forms, but not limited to the example given in figure 2.

The device can be made of paper, plastic, timber, metal, firmed or elastic, wire, net, or cloth, alloys or a combination of these, or made of disposal materials so that it can be disposal, in which case it can be disposal of after 1 or several uses. The straps maybe adjustable and may be made from cloth, elastic, plastic, metal or alloys, fixed or removable.

The device can be easily attached and/ or detached from an extension handle (figure 12 and 13) and/or extendable handle to assist the user with collecting waste not having to bend down low. The extendable handle can be adjust easily to suite the user's height and desired length of the extendable handle, 30 and 31 of figure 14.

The device and the handle can be attached in such a way that the device can be rotated and pivoted at the joints 24 & 26 via fastener 25 of figure 12 & 13.

The invention may be better understood with illustrations as follows.

Figure 1 shows the device consists of two rectangular like boxes, upper box 2, with upper jaw 3, lower box 1 with jaw 4, locker pair 5 and 6 on one side, and another locker pair on the other side of the device. Figure 1 show an open box. The string 20 can be used to carry the device.

Figure 2 shows the joint 7 for the boxes; strap 8 on one side of the box, and another similar strap on the other side; an alternative way of locking the jaws with an elastic string as shown by 21 of Figure 2.

Figure 3 shows a slipped over bag 9 being slipped over device.

Figure 4 shows the device with a slipped over bag 10, and waste 11.

Figure 5 shows how waste is collected into a slipped over bag inside the device.

Figure 6 shows waste is collected and secured inside the device, where the slipped over bag 13 is reversed and tied up at 14; the two locker pairs 15 and 16 can be used to lock the jaws here to assist with the securing of the bag from dropping out of the device. An alternative way to tie the bag is using the bag itself without having to use the string 14.

Figure 7 shows how the waste is being secured inside the bag 17 and is released from the device.

Figure 8 shows an option of how the waste is collect in a bag and can be securely stored inside the device; the locker pairs 18 and 19 being locked to keep the waste securely and hygienically for disposal later.

Figure 9 shows the device in its normal size, figure 10 shows the device being folded to give a smaller size in figure 11.

Figure 14 shows a handle option attachment to the device, where the handle locker at 29 to lock the jaws when closed, and the length can be adjusted at 30 & 31 , for the handle can be done at 30 and 31. The handle and the device are joined at 32 and similarly at the other side.

Figure 12 shows where the attachment points 24 of the device.

Figure 13 shows part of the handle from figure 14, where the attachment to the device can be done with pair parts 25 to pair holes 26. The pair arms 27 can be pivoted to control the open and close of the device.

Figure 15 and 16 show how the handle can be rotated and pivoted from one side 33 to another side 34.

Figure 17 shows an alternative long extended handle attached to a short handle.

Figure 18 show one way of attaching the device to an extended handle with one method of controlling the jaws with string 37, trigger 36, and hinge 39, 38 shows where the device can be attached to the handle.

Figure 19 shows one way of short handle attaching to the device with single hinge 42, and scissors like joint 41.

Figure 20 shows one short handle with double hinges attachment to the device 45 and 46.

Figure 21 shows double hinges joints 47 and 48 to the device which have joint 7 of figure 2 being not connected.

Figure 22 shows the device in its basic form of 2 hollow rectangular like boxes with jaw 49 and 50, and points of attachment to handle at 51.

Figure 23 shows a short handle 56, with locker 55, and holes for attachment to device at 52 & 53, with fasteners 54.

Figure 24 shows an assembly of the device 22 to short handle 23.

Figure 25 shows one form of the device built with only a skeleton form shape of the device.
