Abstract:
The invention relates to a portable dual function barbeque consisting of a barbeque lid (1), a baking plate and a baking oven. The baking plate carries on the upper side wavy grooves (7) for the flow of the grease under the food to the grease collector (15) and upwardly extending borders (6) on the three sides for maintaining the temperature, as long as the baking is also done in open air. The base of the barbeque is flat for equal temperature distribution. The barbeque has four safety-locks (4), a transfer handle (3) and a transportation belt (2), which is secured to the two belt fastening points (5).

Claims:
CLAIMS

1. A portable dual function barbeque consisting of a baking plate seated on horizontal positioning rods (17), a baking oven, within which there is an oven drawer (14) and a grease collection receptacle (15), and a lid (1), characterized in that at the centre of the bottom of the oven drawer (14) there is a combustion unit support base (11) with four holes (10) for the safe instalment of combustion units (12), the remainder empty space intended for food baking.

Portable dual function barbeque according to claim 1, characterized by said food baking plate, which is mounted on the support rods (17), the plate carrying at its upper part along its entire length wavy grooves (7) for the flow of the grease while baking the food, the grease flowing into the grease collector (15), the perimeter of the upper part having three upwardly extending borders (6) for maintaining the temperature during baking in open air, while at the lower part the base is flat for equal temperature distribution and has four downwardly extending borders (5) at the perimeter to maintain the temperature and to cause the remainder heat to transfer downwards to the baking oven, the two lateral downwardly extended borders being each equipped with two semicircular notches (8) for mounting the baking plate on the two rods (17), where the two semicircular notches (8) located above the grease collector (15) have a higher opening and above them is located the side of the baking plate lacking upwardly extending edge, whereby the plate is appropriately tilted for the grease to flow in the grease collector (15).

3. Portable dual function barbeque according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that said lid (1) closes the barbeque and has four safety- locks (4), a transfer handle (3) and a transportation belt (2) which is secured at the two fastening points

DESCRIPTION

PORTABLE DUAL FUNCTION BARBEOUE

The present invention relates to a special design barbeque providing the novelty of dual function, i.e. a baking oven underside and a barbeque apparatus topside.

The invention will become apparent with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which it is illustrated.

Figures la-c show the barbeque lid, the baking plate and the baking oven, respectively.

Figure 2 shows the front view of the portable dual function barbeque in section.

In order to achieve the purpose of this novelty, the device shown in Fig. la-c has been devised, which consists of the following parts:

The baking plate, Fig. lb, carrying at the upper side wavy grooves (7) for the grease to flow under the food to the grease collection receptacle (15) and borders (6) at the three sides extending upwardly to maintain the temperature, as long as baking is performed in open air. The lower part of the baking plate is flat for uniform temperature distribution with four circumferential borders (5) extending downwardly to keep a large part of the heat at the base of the baking plate, Fig. lb, the remainder being driven downwards to achieve the operation of the baking oven, Fig. lc.

The downwardly extending borders (5) have four semicircular notches (8) for seating on the support rods (17) of the plate which are fastened at the two longitudinal sides (9) of the baking oven, Fig. lc, the latter having four sides (9) elevating up to the level of the baking plate, Fig. lb, a perimeter gap formed therebetween so as to preserve the combustion and maintain the aximum temperature inside the baking oven, Fig. lc.

Of the four sides of the oven (9), one operates as an oven drawer (14) where the food is placed and at the same time inspection and safe replacement of the combustion units is conducted, the receptacles being installed for safe transport and operation within sheet metal holes (11), the sheet secured at the centre of the base of the baking oven drawer (14).

Inside the oven there is the grease collector (15). At the bottom outside the oven, Fig.lc, there are four adjustable legs (16) for levelling the barbeque.

Finally, the upper part is the lid (1), Fig. la which has four safety-locks (4), a transfer handle (3) and two fastening points (2a) to fasten the shoulder strap (2) for transportation.

In its application the present invention functions as follows:

Unlock the lid (1), Fig. la, and remove it. Then the drawer (14) of the baking oven, Fig.lc, is opened and the combustion units (12) are installed in the predetermined places (10). On both sides thereof, food can be placed for baking.

The combustion units (12) are lit up and the drawer is closed (14). Within

4-5 minutes, the baking plate, Fig. lb, is heated and food baking may start on it.

Depending on the desired amount of food for baking, one to four combustion units (12) may be used.

The baking plate of the portable dual function barbeque is exactly at the proper height from the flame (21) while also providing the ideal gap around the baking plate and the sides of the oven (9) to achieve the maintenance of combustion as also the maintenance of the maximum temperature inside the oven, wherein the oxygenated air (18) enters through the outer perimeter gap, following the path near the oven side (9) downwards (19) and then from the lower point (20), approaches and feeds the flame (21), allowing for the hot air to circulate in the rest of the room, the air course starting from the base of the baking plate and in a horizontal path outwards encountering the downwardly extending borders which divert the hot gas flow downwardly (25) to avoid the perpendicular encounter and cut off of the introductory course of the oxygenated air (18). The other advantage of this deflection is that the hot air stays for much longer in the oven, which can then act as food baking oven with a fairly satisfactory temperature.
