Abstract:

Provided is a portable electric planer that does not require the replacement of a commutator and that is easily maintained. A cutter block (10) is supported rotatably by a bearing (18, 19) in the center within a housing (2). A blade (11) is attached/affixed by means of a fastening member (35) such as a bolt to the outer periphery of the cutter block. A sensor magnet (30) is provided to an end surface of the cutter block. A blade position detection board (31) is provided within the housing in a manner so as to be disposed opposing the sensor magnet, and detects the magnetic field of the sensor magnet. An electric motor that causes the rotational driving of the cutter block is a brushless motor (20). When stopping, the brushless motor is stopped where the cutter block arrives at a predetermined rotational position.
