Title:
PORTABLE LIGHT MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/113315
Kind Code:
A4
Abstract:
The invention relates to simplified portable method of measuring light sources by limiting the number of parameters to measured for example to one plane of radiation where know characteristics are preselected or default selected to be used to calculated combined output. Further more is light measurements combined with power calculation and control where phase of supply current is used to obtain light source flickering, determine dimmable. Further more can an imaging recording device be used to further enhance the measurements.

AMENDED CLAIMS

received by the International Bureau on 10 October 2013 (10.10.2013)

1. A light measurement system comprised by a light source (Fig 3a) to be measured, which is any device capable of producing light, and a pre-calibrated light measuring sensor (Fig 3c) placed at a certain distance from said light source, including a control system (Fig 3d) capable of obtaining data from said sensor (Fig 3a) and rotating said light source or said sensor around an axis (Fig 3b) over time. Where the said light measuring sensor (Fig 3c) obtains one or more light measurements saved by said control system (Fig 3d), resulting in a luminous intensity distribution measurement in one plane (Fig 2) of complete luminous intensity distribution field (Fig 1 ) of said light source (Fig 3a).

Where said control system (Fig 3d) calculating luminous flux based on a reference measurement of same light source and/or based on one or more pre-stored light source parameters containing complete luminous intensity distribution field (Fig 1 ) information.

2. A light measurement system as described in claim 1 .

Where said pre-stored light source parameters can be labelled by lamp type and name.

3. A light measurement system as described in claim 1 .

Where said pre-stored light source parameters can be manually selected by a user.

4. A light measurement system as described in claim 1 .

Where one luminous intensity measurement is made at a known physical point at a defined distance from the light source, thereby enabling said central control system to calculate luminous flux by 2

using said luminous intensity measurement and/or said defined distance and/or said pre-stored light source parameters.

5. A light measurement system as described in claim 1 and 4.

Where one or more of said pre-stored light source parameters further contains said known physical point and said defined distance. Allowing users to select the light source to measured, with said pre-stored light source parameters, and making said measurement at said known physical point at a defined distance from light source.

A light measurement system as described in claim 1 and 4.

Where initially one or more luminous intensity values are measured at sard known physical point and said defined distance. Subsequently said luminous intensity distribution is measured in one or more planes, thereby enabling said central control systems to calculate luminous flux values backwards in time based on the initial said measured luminous intensity values.

A light measurement system as described in claim 1 .

Where said pre-stored light source parameters for two or more said measurement systems can be identical.
