| 1. | 1 Portable machine to make moldings on marble, granite, travertine slabs and the like, having the following features: the machine is driven by a hydraulic engine (1) which receives energy by a small water plant collocated at a distance;. the handle (2) permits to set the number of revolutions per minute (0-9000); the flow of water coming out from the tool (U); the copying system permits to follow the profile of the slab and can be adjusted to remove the tool (U) when necessary for a better use. |
| 2. | The adjustment of the template (4), through the pin (6) and its guide (7), permits to perform several roughing-out cuts as well as to move the template forward and backward until the molding is finished. |
| 3. | The device comprises two parts separated by a steel ring (5); the template(4) runs between the two parts and remains at the same level preventing the tool from plunging into the material and, therefore, permitting to make a uniform molding. |
The present invention concerns a portable machine to make mol¬ dings on marble, granite, travertine slabs and the like.
As known, machines to make moldings on slabs of the above-mentio¬ ned materials require a lot of water; therefore it is desirable to avoid any presence of electricity to protect the user from electric shocks.
The present invention meets this safety requirement and has the following advantages:
- it avoids the presence of electricity in the machine itself;
- it is possible to set the number of revolutions per minute in function of the different tools applied in order to get peak effi¬ ciency and the highest degree of finish and polish;
- it has two jets of water, one outward -which is known- and one inward, ensuring lubrication and cooling of every part of the machi¬ ne, avoiding deterioration and lengthening operational life;
- it comprises a device which prevents the tool from plunging into the material and enables the user to make a uniform molding. This device permits to go through the whole perimeter of a slab keeping a certain position.
In the following detailed description references are made to the
enclosed drawings. Picture 1 shows the whole machine in vertical section. Picture 2 is a detail showing the components of the device for a uniform molding.
The drawings show a portable machine to make moldings on marble, granite, travertine slabs and the like. Said machine is driven by a hydraulic engine (1) which receives energy by a small water power plant collocated at a distance and linked by oil delivery and return pipes, so that the presence of electricity in the machine is avoi¬ ded. The handle (2) permits to set the number of revolutions per minute (0-9000 and more) in function of the different tools used for different purposes, such as roughing, finishing and polishing, and in function of the material.
The present invention permits to make finished and polished mol¬ dings of different types (torus, cavetto, etc.) according to the the shape of the tool used.
There is an adjustment device (3) for putting the tool at the level desired and/or at the center of each side of the slab.
The main feature of the present invention is the possibility to adjust the template (4) by means of a screw.
The device detailed in picture 2 comprises two parts separated by a steel ring (5); the template (4) runs between the two parts and remains at tha same level preventing the tool from plunging into the material and, therefore, permitting to make a uniform molding.
The adjustment of the template (4), through the pin (6) and its guide (7), permits to perform several roughing-out cuts as well as to move the template forward and backward until the molding is finished.
The following details complete the machine:
- guide (8) and driven (9) pulleys,
- roller (10),
- pilot columns (11),
- bearings (12) ,
- start-stop lever (13).
Without prejudice to the principle of the present invention, the machine can be constructed in forms and details different from those described above.
