Abstract:
The thickness of a portable radio receiver is reduced as much as possible. Connecting terminals (3) for sending sound signals to an earphone (2) are formed in conductive patterns near the outer edge of the enclosure (1) of the receiver. The earphone (2) is connected to a clip member (5) through a cord and the member (5) is detachably attached to the enclosure (1). The member (5) has two arms which are pressed inward and firmly holds the outer edge section of the enclosure (1) with the arms. On the internal side face of the member (5), in addition, connecting terminals are provided for sending signals to the earphone (2) and, when the connecting terminals (3) are brought into contact with the connecting terminals of the enclosure (1), the sound signals outputted from the receiver are sent to the earphone (2). Since the member (5) can be detached easily, the member (5) can only be attached to the enclosure (1) near the connecting terminals (3) at the time of using the portable radio receiver.
