Abstract:
[Problem] To ensure a quick and efficient operation for identifying a smoke generation position in a monitored region. [Solution] A smoke detection device body 12 of a portable smoke detection device 10 is capable of switching between smoke detection sensitivities. At start of operation, a smoke detection sensitivity equal to or higher than that of a fixed smoke detection device 100 for detecting smoke in a monitored region, is set as an initial sensitivity, and switching between the smoke detection sensitivities becomes nonfunctional at this moment. When the portable smoke detection device 10 is to be used for identifying a smoke generation position while being moved in the monitored region after the fixed smoke detection device 100 has detected smoke, the operation is to be started from the initial sensitivity. When a prescribed smoke detection signal is detected during the use for identifying the smoke generation position, the portable smoke detection device 10 is set in a state in which switching between the smoke detection sensitivities is functional, and narrows down and identifies the smoke generation position by having the smoke detection sensitivity reduced as appropriate.
