Abstract:
A portable telephone (10) has a rectangular shape in a plan view and is provided with a first housing (C1), a second housing (C2), and a third housing (C3). The long sides of the second housing (C2) have a greater length than the long sides of the first housing (C1), and this causes the upper surface of the second housing (C2) to be divided into a concealed section and an exposed section when the first housing (C1) is in a closed state. A display (26) is provided on the upper surface of the first housing (C1). The upper surface of the second housing (C2) has provided in the concealed section thereof a QWERTY keyboard (22b), and also has in the exposed section thereof touch keys (32) including a cross-shaped key which serves as a pointing device. The third housing (C3) has provided on the upper surface thereof ten keys (22a) exposed when the third housing is slid.
