Abstract:
Provided are a portable terminal device capable of automatically setting a destination station at which an arrival notification function is to be executed and automatically activating the arrival notification function, and an arrival notification method for the portable terminal device. At a ticket examination gate in an entry into a station, an alarm control device (107) estimates a destination station based on information about the entry station, the information being obtained from a non-contact IC card function section (101) that has a function as a season ticket, and on information about the section for which a season ticket is used. Then, the alarm control device (107) searches, in a database (109) for station location information, for the location of the estimated destination station and set the location as an alarm activation position. When the alarm control device (107) determines, based on current position information obtained from a positional information acquisition device (105), that the location of the destination station as the alarm activation position is near, the alarm control device (107) activate the arrival notification section (113) to perform notification by a sound or vibration.
