Abstract:
Provided is a small portable terminal device, which has a case having a structure wherein an upper case slides, rotates or turns to a lower case, and a built-in antenna which ensures excellent reception quality in various use conditions. The portable terminal device is provided with a first antenna element (41) arranged inside a first case (1); a second antenna element (42) arranged inside a second case (2); a first power supplying means for supplying the first antenna element and the second antenna element with power; and first to fifth electrodes (61-65) for switching electrical connecting portions of the first antenna element (41) and the second antenna element (42). The first antenna element (41) and the second antenna element (42) operate as a magnetic field type antenna element in a compact status wherein the first case (1) and the second case (2) are one over another, and the antenna elements operate as a dipole antenna electric field type antenna element by changing the connection status of the first to fifth electrodes (61-65) in a status wherein the first case (1) is slid on the first case (2) and the case is extended.
