Abstract:
A portable terminal for acquiring an accurate direction at all times even if the distance or direction from a magnetism generating section such as a loudspeaker to a magnetic sensor varies due to opening/closure of the case. The portable terminal (101) in which at least two cases can be coupled to each other with shapes of different relative estrangements comprises a magnetism detecting section (8) provided to at least one of the cases so as to detect the quantity of magnetism, a storage section (9) for storing the quantity of influence of the magnetism from a magnetism generation source having the portable terminal (101) of the quantity of magnetism detected by the magnetism detecting section (8) for each coupling shape of the portable terminal (101), a case shape detecting section (4) for detecting the coupling shape of the probable terminal (101), a data processing section (3) for correcting the quantity of magnetism detected by the magnetism detecting section (8) according to the quantity of influence stored in the storage section (9) for the coupling shape detected by the case shape detecting section (4), and a position direction measuring section (2) for measuring the direction according to the magnetism corrected by the data processing section (3).
