Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a POS terminal device, a POS system, a product recognition method, and a non-transient computer-readable medium having a program stored thereon, whereby it is possible to efficiently recognize products. A POS terminal device (1) comprises a movement trajectory detection unit (2), a paying customer identification unit (4), and a product recognition processing unit (6). The movement trajectory detection unit (2) detects movement trajectories of customers within a store by use of images captured by at least one imaging device. The paying customer identification unit (4) identifies a customer who is about to pay for a product. The product recognition processing unit (6) performs product recognition processing to identify the product to be paid for, from among candidates, which are products displayed at locations matching the detected movement trajectory of the customer identified by the paying customer identification unit (4).
