Abstract:
Provided is a technology whereby the position coordinates of an object in the vicinity or a moving body are estimated on the basis of a camera image captured from the moving body. The present invention: obtains a plurality of camera images that include at least one stationary object photographed at different positions; obtains the coordinates of the imaging position for each of the camera images; and estimates the position coordinates for the stationary object on the basis of the coordinates for the imaging positions and a line-of-sight vector in each of the camera images, said line-of-sight vector being from the camera to the stationary object. Alternatively, the present invention: obtains a camera image including at least two stationary objects for which the position coordinates are known; and estimates the position coordinates for the site at which the camera image was captured, on the basis of the position coordinates for each of the stationary objects and the line-of-sight vectors in the camera image, from the camera to each of the stationary objects.
