Abstract:
Disclosed is a position detecting system (1) which is provided with: a capsule endoscope (10), which is disposed in a detection space (K), and generates a resonant magnetic field corresponding to a drive magnetic field formed in the detection space (K); a magnetic field generating coil (D1) which generates a drive magnetic field in the detection space; detecting coils (S1-S8), which detect the synthetic magnetic field of the resonant magnetic field generated by the capsule endoscope (10) corresponding to the drive magnetic field, and the drive magnetic field; a current detecting unit (32) which detects, in synchronization with the magnetic field detection performed by the detecting coils (S1-S8), a drive current flowing in the magnetic field generating coil (D1); and a position detecting unit (50), which calculates the position and the direction of the capsule endoscope (10), on the basis of the detection value of the synthetic magnetic field detected by the detecting coils (S1-S8) and the detection value of the drive current detected by the current detecting unit (32).
