Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of reducing the possibility of the overlapping of periods in which excitation coils are driven during start-up of detection units. A position detection device (1) wherein a processing unit (23) (processing unit (33)) intermittently performs an acquisition process in a measurement period, said acquisition process acquiring a detection signal induced by a detection coil (22) (detection coil (32)) in accordance with the position of an object (100) as a result of driving an excitation coil (21) (excitation coil (31)). In a monitoring period that has been set prior to the measurement period of the processing unit (33), the processing unit (33) monitors, without driving the excitation coil (31), whether the processing unit (23) is performing the acquisition process and if so, performs a prescribed process.
