Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a position detection device configured so that a magnetic sensor is used and variation in linearity of measurement values caused by temperature changes is minimized. [Solution] A movement part 10 is provided with a first magnet 11 and a second magnet 12. A first magnetic sensor having an axis of sensitivity Sx and a second magnetic sensor having an axis of sensitivity Sz are mounted on a detection part 20. The movement part 10 and the detection part 20 move relative to each other along a movement trajectory Tx. Facing surfaces 11a, 12a of the magnets 11, 12 are shaped as projecting curved surfaces such that the end portions of each of the facing surfaces 11a, 12a are set back further from the movement trajectory Tx than the central portions. Adopting this configuration makes it possible to suppress linear error in measurement values that occur when the magnets are demagnetized in high-temperature environments.
