Abstract:
The present invention provides a position detection system and computer program capable of detecting the position of a mobile station with a high degree of accuracy. The arrival times t and carrier wave phases φ of positioning pulses P transmitted from a mobile station 11 at each update interval and received by at least three fixed stations 1, 2, 3 having known installation positions are input. Next, an error reduction algorithm is used to predict the positioning pulse P arrival times tk+1 for the next update interval from the positioning pulse P arrival times tk for the previous update interval using a carrier wave phase difference Δφ. Next, the position of the mobile station 11 is calculated using the predicted positioning pulse P arrival times t. The update interval duration dt is set as the duration at which the difference Δφnm between the carrier wave phase difference varying during the duration dt as a result of the movement of the mobile station 11 at the assumed maximum movement speed thereof will not reach or exceed 180°.
