Abstract:
A communication control unit (F2) acquires, from a plurality of outdoor machines and a plurality of indoor machines, the reception intensity of signals from a portable device. The communication control unit (F2) also acquires a two-frequency phase difference or round trip time (RTT) as a ToF-related value for each of the outdoor machines by causing the outdoor machines to sequentially transmit/receive distance measurement signals to/from the portable device. A position estimation unit (F3) determines whether the portable device is present in a vehicle interior on the basis of the reception intensity observed by each of the indoor machines and the reception intensity observed by each of the outdoor machines. Meanwhile, whether the portable device is present in a locking/unlocking area is determined by using distance information defined on the basis of the two-frequency phase difference or the RTT.
