Abstract:
Provided are: a position indicator in which a simple configuration is used to achieve, at low cost, an improvement in the operability and durability of a contact member; and a production method therefor. The position indicator (1) is used to perform position indication operations on a capacitance-type position detection device, and is provided with: a rod-shaped housing (2); a sleeve (3) connected to the tip of the housing (2); a cap (8) comprising an elastic material provided so as to protrude from the tip of the sleeve (3); a cloth (9) which covers the cap (8); a support member (5) which is provided inside the housing (2), and which supports the cap (8); and a first fixation member (10) which fixes the cloth (9) to the support member (5). The cap (8) and/or the cloth (9) are/is electrically conductive.
