Abstract:
The present invention provides a position information providing device, method, and program with which it is possible to obtain position information using a simple technique when performing a position correction for pedestrian dead reckoning. A position information providing device 40 is equipped with a wireless communication control unit 52 that, if a portable terminal equipped with a pedestrian dead reckoning function is in close proximity, starts close-proximity wireless communication with the portable terminal, and executes a control for transmitting position information indicating the position where said device is installed to the portable terminal.
