Abstract:
In the present invention, a support substrate (10) has a front surface (11) and a rear surface (12). A magnetic field generation unit (20) generates a magnetic field in a direction orthogonal to the front surface and is fixed to the front surface. A plurality of magnetic elements (31-35) are disposed along one direction of the rear surface within the range of the rear surface through which the magnetic field penetrates. The magnetic elements output detection signals that correspond to the size of the magnetic field. The size of the magnetic field varies according to the amount of movement, in the one direction from a standard position and through a space part (200) corresponding to the penetration range, of the leading end part (110) of an object to be detected (100) in the planar direction of the rear side. A signal processing unit (40) receives detection signals from each of the plurality of magnetic elements. The signal processing unit assigns priorities to the plurality of magnetic elements on the basis of the detection values of the detection signals so that the magnetic element that the leading end is passing has the highest priority, and carries out signal processing so as to prioritize the detection signal of the magnetic element having the highest priority.
