Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of communications, and disclosed in the embodiments thereof are a positioning method and device, which may carry out a positioning function without changing the design of a WiFi chip and may avoid the problem wherein the position of a station (STA) is leaked. The specific solution is as follows: an STA carries out information interaction with at least three access points (AP) so as to obtain transmission time information corresponding to each AP, wherein the MAC addresses used by the STA to carry out information interaction with each AP are different from each other, and the transmission time information corresponding to each AP comprises a time when the AP sends a first measurement message, a time when the STA receives the first measurement message, a time when the STA sends a first acknowledgement message and a time when the AP receives the first acknowledgement message; and the STA calculates the position of the STA according to the transmission time information corresponding to each AP and position information of the at least three APS. The embodiments of the present invention are thus applied to the process wherein the STA carries out information interaction with the AP so as to obtain the position of the STA.
