Abstract:
Disclosed is a positive electrode active material for lithium-ion batteries that has excellent battery characteristics. The positive electrode active material for lithium-ion batteries is represented by the composition formula Li(LixNi1-x-yMy)O2+α (in the formula, M is Co (as an essential component) and one or more elements selected from Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, Al, Bi, Sn, Mg, Ca, B and Zr, with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.1, 0 < y ≤ 0.7, and α > 0), and has an average particle diameter (D50) of 5-15 μm.
