Abstract:
Provided is a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, wherein the positive electrode active material contains a lithium transition metal complex oxide and this lithium transition metal complex oxide has an α-NaFeO2 crystalline structure and is represented by the formula LiwNixCoyMnzO1+w (w > 1, x + y + z = 1) where 0.30 < x < 0.37, 0 ≤ y < 0.05, 0.63 < z < 0.70, and 0.47 < (w–2x–y)/w < 0.51, or is represented by the formula LiaNixCoyMnzO1+a (1 < a, x < z, x + y + z = 1) where –0.06 ≤ ω ≤ 0.06, ω = 2–(a–2x–y)/(z–x), and 0 ≤ y ≤ 0.105.
