Abstract:
The present invention provides: a positive electrode active material for a lithium-ion secondary cell, the positive electrode active material having a high charge/discharge capacity, excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics and output characteristics, and exceptional producibility; and a lithium-ion secondary cell in which the positive electrode active material is used. A positive electrode active material for a lithium-ion secondary cell, the positive electrode active material containing a lithium-transition metal composite oxide represented by composition formula (1): Li1+aNibCocMndMeO2+α [in composition formula (1), M represents one or more metal elements other than Li, Ni, Co, and Mn, and the following relationships are satisfied: -0.04 ≤ a ≤ 0.04, 0.80 ≤ b < 1.00, 0 ≤ c ≤ 0.04, 0 < d < 0.20, b + c + d + e = 1, and -0.2 <α < 0.2], wherein in composition formula (1), the relationship c/d ≤ 0.75 is satisfied.
