Abstract:
The present invention provides a positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries, the positive electrode active material containing a lithium metal composite oxide and satisfying relational expression (1); the lithium metal composite oxide contains at least Ni, Li and an element X, while having an α-NaFeO2 type crystal structure; and the element X is composed of one or more elements that are selected from the group consisting of Co, Mn, Al, Fe, Cu, Ti, Mg, W, Mo, Nb, Zn, Sn, Zr, Ga, V, B, Si, S and P. (1): 0% < (1 - (A/B)) × 100 ≤ 1.3%
