Abstract:
This positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries contains a lithium-containing transition metal oxide that has a crystal structure belonging to the space group P63mc. The lithium-containing transition metal oxide contains at least Co, Mn and Ni, and the composition ratio of Co, Mn and Ni satisfies Coα1Mnβ1Ni(1-α1-β1) (wherein 0.7 ≤ α1 < 1.0, 0 <β1 < 0.3, and 0.85 ≤ α1 + β1 < 1.0).
